Couples Therapy
Most couples don't come to therapy because they don't care about each other. They come because they've become caught in a cycle that leaves both partners feeling hurt, disconnected, and alone.
You may find yourselves having the same arguments repeatedly, feeling misunderstood, or struggling to communicate without becoming defensive, shutting down, or withdrawing. Beneath the conflict, many couples are longing for the same thing: to feel seen, valued, loved, and emotionally connected.
Perhaps one of you reaches for connection while the other pulls away. Maybe you've stopped sharing your deeper feelings because it doesn't feel safe, or you've begun to wonder whether your partner truly understands your needs. Over time, these patterns can create distance, resentment, and loneliness, even in relationships where love is still present.
You may be experiencing:
Feeling disconnected or emotionally distant from your partner
Repeated arguments that never seem to get resolved
Difficulty expressing needs, fears, or vulnerabilities
Patterns of pursuing, withdrawing, criticizing, or shutting down
Feeling unseen, unheard, or unimportant in the relationship
Trust injuries, betrayals, or challenges rebuilding connection
Life transitions that have strained your relationship
Increased conflict, tension, or emotional reactivity
A sense that you're "walking on eggshells" or avoiding difficult conversations
Loneliness within the relationship, despite wanting closeness
The Process
Understanding your Relationship Story
We'll begin by getting to know you as a couple—your strengths, challenges, history, and the concerns that brought you to therapy. This helps us understand what's happening beneath the surface and identify the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
Identifying the Cycle
Together, we'll explore the recurring interactions that create distance, conflict, or disconnection in your relationship. Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, we'll work to understand the cycle that both partners get caught in and how it impacts your connection.
Creating New Conversations
As we develop a deeper understanding of your relationship dynamics, you'll learn how to express your needs, emotions, and concerns in ways that foster understanding and connection.
Strengthening Connection
We will work together to help you build a more secure, supportive relationship. As old patterns begin to shift, couples often experience greater trust, emotional closeness, and confidence in their ability to face challenges together.
Investing in Your Relationship
While I accept insurance for individual therapy, I do not for couples therapy. This is because insurance requires a mental health diagnosis for one person and documentation that focuses on their individual treatment. Couples therapy, however, focuses on the relationship—not one person’s diagnosis—which doesn’t align with insurance requirements.
Because insurance doesn't support the nature of relational work, couples therapy is provided on a private-pay basis to preserve the integrity of the process. My rate is $175 for a 50-minute couple session.
Couples therapy is an investment in the health and longevity of your relationship, and I am committed to providing a space where both partners feel equally supported throughout the process.
